What happens and what time we arrive, very much depends on where you are going and how big your move is:

1. If you are moving locally within the Market Harborough area, in a 3 bedroom house with minimal services and you have standard access to both properties, we would normally arrive around 8.30am and start loading your belongings.
2. The average time for a house move of this size is approximately 3 hours, including covering and loading goods safely onto our vehicles. We would then depart and arrive at your new property within the journey time.
3. The next step would be to wait at your new property until we receive confirmation from our office that your keys have been received and funds transferred.
4. Once you arrive with your keys from the estate agents, we would start unloading.
5. Depending on access and services requested this is normally 40% faster than the loading period – usually around 1.5-2 hours.

If your furniture doesn’t fit into your new home, it can usually be dismantled and reassembled. It’s a good idea to check with your moving company if this will be an issue at the point of requesting your quote.

On confirmation of your quote, you can then instruct them to carry out the dismantling and reassembly service for you.

Typical items you may need to dismantle include beds and other large
furniture like wardrobes and dining tables.

If you have a reservation about a piece of furniture ask at the quote consultation and then you are ready for every eventuality on moving day!

Different items require different boxes. This is primarily to negate damages whilst you move.

For example:

• Delicate china and glassware should be packed in a compact tight box small in size.
• Books get very heavy easily when packed in boxes, so smaller boxes should be used to avoid the box being damaged and falling apart in transit.
• Light and soft items like pillows, bed linen and towels can go in larger boxes or even bags, as they won’t put too much stress on the box.
